A25 High Shear Homogenizer
Operating Manual
Safety precautions
Please follow the essential safety precautions such as fire protection, electric shock and physical injury, etc. during the use.
Please read this manual carefully before use.
Please switch off the power before conducting cleaning, maintenance and other relevant operations.
To avoid electric shock, except the agitator, don’t let other parts contact the material.
Don’t make any operation after the equipment is broken down or damaged.
To avoid electric shock, only professional technician can open the cover of the equipment.
Please wear the hearing protection device when the equipment works at the maximum rotation speed.
Please see the operating manual for details about cleaning.
Caution
The power supply must in conformity with the requirements indicated on the equipment.
Make proper protective measures to your hands and eyes before processing dangerous chemicals.
Please cut off the power before replacing the agitator.
Please fix the glass reaction container firmly by clamp before co-using with the equipment.
Don’t run the aigtator without the medium.
Be careful when control speed, as material may splash.
Don’t block the exhaustion slot on both sides of the motor.
1. How it Works
The high speed rotation of the rotor sucks materials into the narrow gaps between the precision-engineered stator/rotor agitator, where they are subjected to intense mechanical and hydraulic shear, materials are rapidly mixed, dispersed, emulsified and homogenized with great efficiency.
2. Applications
The A25 High Shear Homogenizer is synonymous with high performance and long service life. It is suitable for the widest variety of applications: mixing, dispersing, emulsifying, homogenizing, disintegrating, dissolving, serving industries as diverse as foods, coatings, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, adhesives, paints and lacquers, dyeing, petrochemicals, paper-making, asphalt or heavy-oil emulsification, nanophase materials, waste water treatment, etc.

4. Speed Adjustment
The A25 model has an electronic speed control device on the top of the built-in motor; the speed range can be divided into six levels as follows:
| 500W | 800W | 1050W |
A(1) | 10000 rpm | 10000 rpm | 10000 rpm |
B(2) | 13000 rpm | 14000 rpm | 14000 rpm |
C(3) | 16000 rpm | 18000 rpm | 18000 rpm |
D(4) | 19000 rpm | 22000 rpm | 22000 rpm |
E(5) | 22000rpm | 26000 rpm | |
F(6) | 25000 rpm | 30000 rpm | 30000 rpm |
G | 28000 rpm |
Note: The electronic speed control device may automatically lower speed down in the event of overload, and outer extreme electronic interference may cause temporary unconstant speed.
5. Installation of A25 Superfine Homogenizer
5.1 Link the two separate iron poles (6, 9) together and fix them tightly to the base plate (11), then Screw on the nut (10).
5.2 Set the motor (2) to the cross bar (7) and fasten them tight.
5.3 Connect the agitator (5) to the motor; fasten tight by the screw (4).
5.4 Fasten the unit with the stand by a clamp (8).

Installing and uninstalling agitator
Schematic diagram:
Installing and uninstalling the agitator
Put the detaching tool into both sides of the generator
Unscrew the rotor
Remove the rotor
Take out the main shaft
Put the main shaft into PTFE bearing in the direction showed in this figure
Pack out PTFE bearing
Finally take out PTFE bearing

6. Operation
6.1 The unit must be operated with medium. It is strictly prohibited from empty running, as this may cause damage to the bearing.
6.2 Due to the sucking force generated by the rotor, the dispersing head should be positioned at least 10mm from the vessel bottom, and away from the center, so as to facilitate the liquid circulation.
6.3 Before starting, check whether the power supply is consistent with the power requirement of the unit, and ensure there are no hard matters in the vessel.
6.4 In starting the unit, begin at the lowest speed level, then gradually move to the desired speed. In the event of highly viscosity materials or materials with high solid content operation, the electronic speed control device can automatically lower the rotation speed, however, it is better recommended that the materials be diluted or to decrease the load.
6.5 It is recommended that low viscosity liquids first be added, then follows the more viscous liquid, leaving the solid powder evenly distributed to the last.
6.6 If the medium temperature is higher than 120℃ on operation, then the PTFE bearing should be replaced by a copper bearing.
7. Cleaning
The agitator should be cleaned after operation. Ways of cleaning:
7.1 For easy-to-clean materials, add some detergent in the vessel, keep the agitator operating in it for 5 minutes at medium speed. Then wash by clean water and dry it with soft cloth.
7.2 For hard-to-clean materials, relative solvents are suggested for cleaning, but high-corrosive solvents should be avoided.
7.3 For industries that have strict requirements on sterilization like biochemical, pharmaceutical and food, separate dismantle tools should be purchased. After dismantled, it should be subjected to cleaning and sterilization.
7.4 After cleaning, put the agitator as it were, do not invert it.
8. Fittings and Accessories
8.1 One PTFE bearing. It is applied in drive shaft lubricating & fixing, when obvious abrasion appears on bearing and the gap between shaft sleeve and drive shaft is widened out, the PTFE bearing needs to be replaced.
